Protection From Abuse

A Protection From Abuse Order (PFA) is a court order, signed by a Judge. Typically, a PFA will remove the abuser from the residence of the parties, and prohibit the abuser from contacting the other party. Violation of the Protection From Abuse Order can result in a criminal contempt proceeding and possible incarceration. The Family Law Attorneys at DiOrio & Sereni, LLP will help you secure such an order, or other appropriate protections, thru the Courts. Your well-being is our highest concern, and we will work to ensure the safety of you and your family.

If you and/or your family/children are the victim of domestic violence, we want to help. Our family law attorneys have seen many types of domestic abuse and domestic relations cases. We have thorough hands-on experience in these serious matters and we want to get immediate protection for you and/or your family. We can work to make sure your restraining or protective orders are expedited so that you can find safety and closure to an unhealthy domestic relationship.

Conversely, you may be an individual who has been wrongly accused of abuse. There are many reasons why one individual will falsely accuse the other individual of abuse. It may come from spite, revenge, anger, jealousy, or it may simply be to try to gain a strategic advantage in a custody or divorce case. We have represented countless individuals in such cases and will do our best to expose the other side’s true motives.

Whether you have been accused of domestic violence, or you are the one who needs protection from it, we recommend seeking a quality attorney from our practice who can apply the many years of knowledge we have accumulated to defend your case.
