We’re kicking off the 7th Annual Team Cameron Toy Drive to benefit the children at Nemours/A.I. duPont Hospital for Children

By: Laurie A. McCarthy, Esquire

[email protected]

The Team Cameron Toy Drive is run by the Cameron McCarthy Foundation, named in honor of my daughter who, in May of 2015 – just before her 7th birthday – was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma – a rare and aggressive form of bone cancer.  Cameron endured a year of difficult treatment (17 rounds of in-patient chemotherapy and 31 proton radiation treatments) and is now 5 ½ years cancer free.

We spent a lot of time in the hospital during treatment, and I cannot emphasize enough just how much a new toy or game means to a child stuck inside a hospital, sometimes for days or weeks at a time. With the pandemic and the continued limitations on visitors, children need these toys even more to distract them from what is going on and to brighten their day.

If you would like to help us bring smiles to the faces of children undergoing treatment at duPont Hospital, please consider donating to our Team Cameron Toy Drive!  We are collecting new unwrapped toys for kids of all ages (babies –teens) from now until December 17,2021 and we have several convenient ways for you to donate.

  • If you would like to make a cash donation, CLICK HERE to donate directly to our TeamCameron fundraising page. All donations will go directly to the Child Life team at Nemours A.I. Dupont Hospital for Children.
  • If you would rather send a monetary donation directly to us, we are happy to do the shopping for you and provide you with a 501(c)3 tax-compliant donation receipt. Please make checks payable to the Cameron McCarthy Foundation, c/o Laurie A. McCarthy, Esquire, 21 West Front Street, Media, PA 19063. Or you can send donations via Venmo to @Laurie-McCarthy20
  • You can also purchase a toy from our Amazon Wish List CLICK HERE  — all purchases will be delivered directly to the foundation and donated to the hospital.
  • Or, if you have a new, unwrapped toy to drop off, please message me at [email protected] and I will arrange to pick it up.

Thank you for helping to make our 7th Toy Drive another success for the wonderful children at Nemours/A.I. Dupont Hospital for Children.
