The Team Cameron Toy Drive is run by the Cameron McCarthy Foundation, named in honor of my daughter, who, in May of 2015 – just before her 7th birthday – was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma – a rare and aggressive form of bone cancer. Cameron endured a year of difficult treatment (17 rounds of in-patient chemotherapy and 31 proton radiation treatments) and is now 6 ½ years cancer free, and a freshman in high school.
We spent a lot of time in the hospital during treatment, and I cannot emphasize enough just how much a new toy or game means to a child stuck inside a hospital, sometimes for days or weeks at a time.
If you would like to help us bring smiles to the faces of children undergoing treatment at duPont Hospital, please consider donating to our Team Cameron Toy Drive! We are collecting new unwrapped toys for kids of all ages (babies – teens) from now until December 16,2022 and we have several convenient ways for you to donate.
