Veterans Day 2021 – A few ways to thank our Veterans for their invaluable service

  1. Show Up – Attend a Veterans Day event in your area – not just a barbeque with friends – but a parade or service for our Veterans. Cheer for our heroes and thank them for their service.
  2. Donate – Write a check to one of the many amazing organizations who offer support and services for our Veterans. Or donate your frequent-flyer miles to an organization such as the Fisher House Foundation’s Hero Miles Program. This organization uses the donated miles to help family members be close to loved ones who were injured while serving.
  3. Hire a Veteran or patronize a Veteran-owned business – Of the 27 million small businesses in the U.S., about 9% are Veteran-owned. Support our Veterans by frequenting their businesses. You can learn about Veteran-owned businesses in your area by visiting the Coalition for Veteran Owned Business.
  4. Volunteer – Veterans Homes rely on volunteers to help maintain a positive and supportive atmosphere. Students, retirees, and veteran service organizations all help organize outings, activities, and celebrations for our Veterans.
